Douglas Sanders

Douglas R. Sanders, age 55, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Born June 13, 1958 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Francis C. Sanders and Dorothy Spidle Sanders.
A car enthusiast, Doug enjoyed working on cars, restoring cars, going to car shows, and watching NASCAR. He worked as a machine operator at TYCO Electronics for the last four years and at Grove Manufacturing prior to that. He was a 1976 graduate of the James Buchanan High School.
Surviving are two children, Shane J. Sanders of Chambersburg, PA and Shanice R. Sanders of Chambersburg, PA; two grandchildren, Bryce and Myleigh; two siblings, Michael J. Sanders (wife Marilyn) of Chambersburg, PA and Barbara A. Sanders of Chambersburg, PA; his step-mother, Betty L. Sanders of Chambersburg, PA; and two step – sisters, Barbara Oster of MN and Lisa Eckenrode of Chambersburg, PA.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, 417 Phoenix Dr., suite A, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
