Dr. Quirico “Ric” Ramos Magbojos, 86, of Fayetteville, PA, passed peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Born June 16, 1934 in Bauan, Batangas, Philippines, he was the son of Guillermo and Demetria Magbojos. He came to the United States in July 1960 to complete his medical training in Hartford, CT, Brooklyn, NY, and Philadelphia, PA. Ric served as a Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during the Vietnam War. He then settled in Chambersburg, PA, where he established his internal medicine practice and continued until his retirement in 2006.
When Ric wasn’t seeing patients, you could find him on the tennis court or golf course at the Chambersburg Country Club, where he was a fierce competitor and won several championships. His other interests included family trips, playing cards and Mahjong with friends, and spending time gardening. Ric was also a huge animal lover and had several beloved pets throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Zenaida Velasco Magbojos; three loving daughters, Rose Marie Grainda (Jeffrey) of Fort Collins, CO, Caroline Magbojos of Los Angeles, CA, and Julie Magbojos (Christopher Lutz) of Los Angeles, CA; and three beautiful grandchildren, Greta and Gina Grainda, and Xander Lutz. He is also survived by two sisters and one brother. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
A private celebration of his life will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
