Duane Lee Bidlack

Chambersburg

 Duane Lee Bidlack, 86, of Chambersburg, passed away at his home on July 18, 2024. Born February 23, 1938 in Oakwood, OH, he was a son of the late Guy and Cleo Durham Bidlack. His beloved wife, Cheryl Marie Boake Bidlack, preceded him in death on July 25, 2010.

 Duane earned a Bachelor’s degree from Tri-State College and later a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University. He began his career with Gulf Oil and continued with EG&G, Koch Industries, and most recently he was employed with the Federal Government at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg. Duane was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Chambersburg where he sang in the church choir. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.

 He is survived by five children, Andrew P. Bidlack (wife Melissa) of Baltimore, MD, Belinda Christensen (husband Eric) of Lansdowne, PA, Mary Long of Pittsburgh, PA, Tim Bidlack of Pittsburgh, PA, and Bede Bidlack of Somerville, MA; as well as ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear companion, Paula Frey. Aside from his wife and parents, Duane was preceded in death by his brother Don and sister Marjorie.

 A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 58 S. 2nd St, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Patricia Dickson will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
