Duane Walker

Duane C. Walker, age 54, of Mechanicsburg, PA, went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 16, 2014. Born October 19, 1959, he was a son of the late James E. and June Campbell Walker.

A 1977 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Duane went on to earn his Associates Degree from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in 1979. Duane worked as an industrial maintenance mechanic at Appleton Paper in Mechanicsburg, Timbar Corporation in Hanover, and most recently Atlas Roofing Company. He faithfully attended Christian Life Assembly of God in Camp Hill, PA. Duane would do anything for his children and was a wonderful provider for his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed being outdoors.

Duane is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carmen Lynn Menner Walker, whom he married on May 5, 1979; two children, Jennifer Whittington and husband Jeff, and James Walker, both of Mechanicsburg; a brother, Greg Walker and wife Grace of FL and Elaine Kline and husband Eugene of Smithsburg, MD.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 230 Siloam Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Dennis Chisholm will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Thursday, june 19, 2014 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
