Dwight Merle Crawford

1953 — 2025

St. Thomas

Dwight Merle Crawford, age 71, of St. Thomas, PA passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Hershey Medical Center. Born December 30, 1953, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Dalton and Edna Clark Crawford.

Dwight was a 1971 graduate of the James Buchanan High School. Working in many trades through the years, starting as a young boy, he delivered newspapers and helped local farmers. As an adult, he worked as an auto mechanic, construction worker, and had long term employment at T.B. Woods (pre-strike).  After T.B. Woods, he worked at Best Auto Supply and Fisher Auto Parts. Dad also enjoyed working several decades at Family Cycling Center in Chambersburg. He was the proverbial “Jack of All Trades” having a photographic memory and the ability to do anything.

When not working, Dad enjoyed spending time with family and friends and telling jokes and life stories. He had a love for Mopar muscle cars, especially his life-long devoted '69 Plymouth Road Runner; he will eternally hold the voice of the road runner in his hands. Dad also being an “easyrider” at heart, loved being “in the wind” on a Harley Davidson. He had a passion for the outdoors, living many decades at the “grand daddy place” feeding deer, fishing, and riding 4-wheelers. He also loved animals especially his best friend, “Lucky” who passed several years ago.

He is survived his son, Darren Crawford, and his two sisters, Carolyn & Barbara. Living on in the hearts of those who love and befriended him. To you all, we are grateful and thank you.

Services and interment are private and by invitation only. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. West, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Dad would so appreciate knowing those lil' ones are cared for.

Never goodbye only till We see you again Dad…no one can hurt you anymore, burn rubber not your soul…beep beep!!
