Dwight Thomas

Dwight E. Thomas, Sr., 66, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, November 28, 2014. Born on August 18, 1948 in Chambersburg, Dwight was the son of the late Edgar and Shirley Reed Thomas. He spent his working years in the construction business. Dwight was a member of VFW Post 6168, Shippensburg and Oscar M. Hykes Post 223 American Legion. He loved his family, telling stories to his grandkids, hunting fishing, taking daily rides through the mountains and his dog Sparky.

Dwight is survived by his wife of 46 years Patricia E.(Trish) Cook Thomas, whom he married on November 2, 1968; 2 sons, Dwight E. Jr and wife Tammy of Fayetteville and Dwayne E. and wife Cona of Chambersburg; 2 daughters, Celina Thomas of Fayetteville and Regina Grooms and husband Wesley of Chambersburg; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Greg, a sister, Cheryl, and a great grandson, Brayden Ashwell.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Monday, December 1, 2014 and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
