Dwight P. Webster, 74, of Fleming Island, FL passed away August 27, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL. Born February 1, 1948 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of the late Lawrence and Lois (Newberger) Webster.
He was a graduate of the Chambersburg Senior High School with the Class of 1967. While he was in high school, he was a member of the wrestling team, earning the best overall record of 14-3 his senior year. Following high school Dwight went on to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Shippensburg University in 1971.
Dwight had a successful career as an insurance agent with Nationwide Insurance from 1976 until his retirement in 2014, in that time achieving a CIC designation. He was a member of True Life Church, Middleburg, FL as well as an avid boater and deep sea fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sue (Logan) Webster who he married October 26, 1985; four children, Gregory Webster (Lana Jordan) of St. Petersburg, FL, Alexander Webster (Sinead O’Leary) of Sarasota, FL, Joshua Webster (Kellie Tantum) of Langhorne, PA and Carolyn Webster of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren, Conor and Fionn; a sister, Janice Holbrook (Paul) of Scotland, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Linda Cook and a brother, Jeffrey Webster.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 5, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Ron Cook officiating. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA. The family will be receiving visitors an hour prior to the service Saturday morning in the funeral home.
