Earl David Gill, Jr., age 66, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his home. Born March 28, 1947 in Mechanicsburg, PA, he was the son of Edna Ruth Lehigh Gill and the late Earl David Gill, Sr.
A 1966 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, Mr. Gill went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam Conflict. He earned his Associates Degree from Devry Technical Institute in 1969, and began his career as an Electronics Engineer. Mr. Gill was a member of the AMVETS Post 224, the VFW Post 1599, and AARP. He enjoyed spending time with family traveling, classic cars and motorcycles.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, LTC David W. Gill (wife Christine) of Aiea, HI and Adam P. Gill (wife Kasey) of Pequea, PA; 5 grandchildren, Trinity and Donovan Gill and Skylee, Kierra, and Alivia Gill; and one aunt, Louise Scott of Etters, PA.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Ellen B. Scamahorn will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Le Tort Evangelical Church Cemetery at a later date.
