Earl Long

Earl R. Long, age 65, of Fannettsburg, PA, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012. Born July 17, 1946 in Fannettsburg, PA, he was the son of Gladys Hobble Long and the late James Earl Long.

Earl worked in the logging industry for years, working last for Don Reasner Logging. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and gardening.

Surviving are a son, Gregory L. Long (wife Melinda) of Chambersburg, PA, his companion of 13 years, Ramona Freet and her grandchildren, which he cherished as his own, Daisha and Bailey Freet and Mikelle McGee, and four siblings, Wilbur (Rose), John (Mary), Paul (Donna), and Harry (Mabel) Long and a brother-in-law Sam Peterson and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Long in 1996, a sister, Shirley Peterson, and another sibling in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA with Pastor Alan Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in the Reformed Church Cemetery, Fannettsburg, PA.
