Earl E. Ross, age 76, of St. Thomas, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab Center. Born July 21, 1941, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Lee E. and Madeline Suders Ross.
Earl was a member of Salem United Brethren Church and a 30 year member of the Ruritan National Club. He enjoyed tractors, participating in community service, his church, watching NASCAR, wrestling, and he especially cherished time with his grandchildren.
Earl is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Janet M. Friese Ross, whom he married July 10, 1968; two children, Michelle Ocker (husband Charles) of Chambersburg, PA and David Stymiest of St. Thomas, PA; a granddaughter, Jessica Cooper; a great-granddaughter, Ansden White; and three siblings, John and Richard Ross of Chambersburg, PA and Edith Hassler of CO. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Andrew Rosenberry and Stephen Ross.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Art Page and Rev. Ron Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday from 7 – 9 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the NOVA Ruritan, 548 N. Allison Street, Greencastle (Nova), PA 17225.
