Edith G. Faubel, 89, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 10, 2016 at her home. Born May 11, 1926 in Hagerstown, MD, she was a daughter of the late Nazarene Frank and Ernestine Coccia Corsi and the step-daughter of the late Irene Corsi. Early in her life, Mrs. Faubel made pizzas, spaghetti sauce, and meatballs from her home on Guilford Avenue in Chambersburg. The Faubel family later moved to South Coldbrook Avenue in Chambersburg where she made and sold pizzas out of the back of her home for nine years. In 1975, she opened Edith’s Pizza on South Main Street which she continued to operate for thirty years. Raised in the Roman Catholic faith in Hagerstown, she was most recently a member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg and was a devoted prayer warrior. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, baking, and entertaining friends in her home. Her husband, James E. “Jim” Faubel, whom she married July 22, 1949, preceded her in death on May 4, 2013.

She is survived by her son, Robert E. and wife Sharon Faubel of Chambersburg; her granddaughter, Dawn Coletti and husband Joseph of Cary, NC; two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Cora Coletti; her sister, Clara Romanelli of Philadelphia; and her brother, Frank Corsi, Jr. of Hagerstown. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Faubel of Greencastle and Barbara Burg of Chambersburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and James Corsi, and a sister, Anne Corsi.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 14, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Donald C. Nolder will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon-1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
