Edith Sleighter

Edith S. Sleighter, 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at 8:50 PM, Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at her home. Born January 30, 1923 in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late William W. and Mary Ella Warenberger White. She was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg. Her beloved husband, Delbert Eugene Sleighter, preceded her in death.

Edith is survived by five children, Laura Piotte and Sue Amos, both of Baltimore, MD, Dawn Amos of Georgia, Joe Everhart and wife Lisa J. Peters, and daughter Virginia, all of Chambersburg; fifteen grandchildren, Michael, Kari, Melissa, Jody, Rachel, Tina, David, James, Mariam, Daniel, Jeremy, Rebecca, Ronald, Christopher, and Steven; twelve great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marion Wysong of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her former husband, David W. Everhart; her son, David W. Everhart; a grandson; four brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, October 21, 2011 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Phyllis Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, PA. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
