Edna Keller Staley, 93, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Milford, PA, died on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 1, 1920 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Frank R. and Martha Ellen Traxler Keller.
Mrs. Staley was a 1937 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and was employed early in her life at the Chambersburg Engineering Company. She retired in 1981 from Mellon Bank in Milford. A former member of First Presbyterian Church in Milford, she was currently a member of the Penn Hall Chapel. Mrs. Staley enjoyed playing Scrabble and volunteering at Penn Hall where she had also worked in the Gift Shop. Her husband, Joseph Lewis Staley, whom she married August 31, 1940, preceded her in death on July 12, 2007.
She is survived by a daughter Marty and husband Todd Estell of Knoxville, MD; son, Ira M. Staley, III and wife Deborah of Mechanicsville, VA; five grandchildren, Christy Schumacher and husband Timon, Amy Estell, Jenny Staley and husband Phil Falco, Adam Estell and wife Krista; and Nathan Staley and wife Megan; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Ben Schumacher; and two sisters, Edith Osterman, and Dorothy Pheil, both of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Keller; and a sister, Helen Myers.
Services and interment will be held at a later date at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Petersville, MD.
