Edward A. Brown, Sr., 81, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home. Born October 1, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late William H. and Josephine M. Kallina Brown. Ed was a 1950 graduate of the New York School of Printing and was employed for many years by Regency Thermographers prior to his retirement. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the Chambersburg Club. Ed liked spending time with his grandchildren and playing cards with his family and friends. An avid New York sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Giants, Yankees, and Rangers. His wife, Dolores M. Hynes Brown, whom he married May 27, 1961, preceded him in death on October 18, 2000.
He is survived by four children, Edward A. Brown, Jr., Susan M. Whitfield and husband Brian, Richard W. Brown and wife Angela, and Patricia L. McCoy and husband Bud, all of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, Taylor M. McConnaughey and fiancé Alex Buterbaugh, Alec J. Brown, Madison M. Whitfield, Austin G. Brown, Emily N. Whitfield, and Brodee M. McCoy, all of Chambersburg; two sisters, Mildred Reardon of East Meadow, NY, Patricia Weissler of Bethpage, NY, and his brother, William Brown of North Carolina. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine McBreen and Dorothy Kane, both of New York.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Services and interment in Lincoln Cemetery will be private.
