Edward F. Garman, age 70, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at Menno Haven Nursing Home on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Born November 27, 1942 in Mill Creek, PA, he was the son of the late Pete P. and Nancy Parks Garman.
Mr. Garman was a 1961 graduate of Huntington High School. He joined the U.S. Army National Guard in 1963, where he served until 1969. He was employed as a lineman, starting at United Telephone and retiring in 2007 from CenturyLink. An avid outdoorsman, Ed enjoyed hunting. He was a former member of the Shippensburg Rod and Gun Club and a lifetime member of the NRA.
The last of his immediate family, Ed is survived by a nephew, Leonard Anderson and his wife Bonita of Blairs Mills, PA, and a great nephew, Ethan Anderson and wife Erin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Garman in 2006.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Chaplain Vernon Isner will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
