Edward H. Reasner, age 85, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away at home on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Born on July 24, 1928 in Fayetteville, PA, he was the son of the late David Bruce and Frances Boggs Reasner.
A 1946 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, Mr. Reasner went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Air Force, as a Jet Engine Mechanic from 1948 – 1969, retiring as a SMSGT. After retiring, Mr. Reasner entered a second career, working as a Superintendent at U.S. Papermill in Chambersburg, from 1970 – 1987. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 46, the Marine Corps League, and the Moose Lodge # 842 all in Chambersburg, PA. Mr. Reasner enjoyed playing golf, watching his grandsons play baseball, gardening, and watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
Surviving is his wife, Vanda Barham Reasner, whom he married on September 1, 1951, two children, Terry Lupia (husband Joe) of Middletown, PA and Edward H. Reasner, Jr. (wife Sherri) of Middletown, PA, two grandsons, Michael and Aaron Lupia, both of Middletown, PA, and three siblings, Martha Ross of Chambersburg, PA, Betty Freeze of Hagerstown, MD, and David Reasner of Fayetteville, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, William Reasner, Hammett Reasner, and Alice Stymiest.
Inurnment will be on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Boundary Rd., Annville, PA 17003 with military honors; where Rev. Charles Keller will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
