Mrs. Eleanor “Ann” (Hamman) Hackenberg, 79, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 2, 1941 in Huntingdon County, PA she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Hershey) Hamman.
Mrs. Hackenberg was employed as a supervisor for many years at Hennesey Products, Chambersburg. She was an active member of the Chambersburg Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Hackenberg enjoyed gardening, working outside, traveling, being with her family during holidays and dinners, and most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her second husband, Donn D. Hockensmith, Jr. whom she married February 21, 2003; four children, Vickie Booher and her husband Dave of Hancock, MD, Thomas K. Hackenberg, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Spencer, WV, Jeannie Cook and her husband Darryl of Chambersburg, and Sharon Stitely and her husband Paul A. of Chambersburg; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two siblings, Thurman Hamman of Fort Loudon, PA and Clara Pisle of Chambersburg, PA and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband Thomas K. Hackenberg, Sr.; four sisters and nine brothers.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Norland Cemetery, 2295 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Elder Greg Rockwell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday evening in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. CDC social distancing and mask requirements will be in place.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Chambersburg Seventh-day Adventist Church, 160 E. Liberty Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
