Elisabeth A. “Betsy” Plyler, 85, of Chambersburg, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 10, 1936 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Edna Cook Lesher. Her beloved husband, James W. Plyler, preceded her in death in 2000.
Betsy spent most of her life making a home for her family. She was a member of the Jolly 60’s at The Open Door Church. She enjoyed going to yard sales, gardening, baking and traveling.
She is survived by two sons, Rick Plyler (Jodi Bishop) and Roger Plyler (Stephanie), both of Chambersburg; her companion, Dennis Simpson of Marion; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Betsy was preceded in death by her son, Randy Plyler and two brothers, Jake and Richard Lesher.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 13, 2021 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Randy Rhodes will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
