Elizabeth L. Throssel Kleffel, of Mechanicsburg, PA and formerly of Chambersburg, entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2013, joining her late husband Rev. Paul H. Kleffel, on the date of their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary. Born in Mifflinburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Edna Throssel.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School and Pierce Business School of Philadelphia. Elizabeth gave tirelessly of her time, conducting the Children’s and Youth Choirs in the parishes in Lock Haven and Lemoyne, PA. She was instrumental in initiating the Men’s Chorus at Bethany Village, for which she was the accompanist twenty years. Elizabeth had a great love of music and also enjoyed decorating and entertaining. She was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star for over fifty years.
She is survived by two daughters; Yvonne Hazen (husband, Randy) of Reisterstown, MD and Jody Dixon (husband, Rick) of Lewisberry, PA, four grandchildren; Andrea Cottrill (husband, Keith), of Chesterfield, VA, Kendra Hazen of Midlothian, VA, Christopher and Cierstin Dixon of Lewisberry, PA and two great-granddaughters, Claire and Grace Cottrill. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded death by two siblings, Jeanne and Jack Throssel.
A memorial service of love and joy will be held at 11AM on Friday July 19, 2013 in The Bethany Village East Community Room, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Pastor Brand Eaton will officiate. To honor Elizabeth, you are encouraged to wear colorful clothing.
