Elizabeth Small

March 22, 1920 — January 29, 2015

Elizabeth L. Small, 94, of Marion, PA, passed away Thursday morning, January 29, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 22, 1920 in Marion, she was a daughter of the late Roy C. and Helen Harrison Hammond. Mrs. Small was a 1938 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. She served as Postmaster in Marion for nearly 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church and volunteered at the Chambersburg Hospital and with Meals on Wheels for many years. Her husband, Elmer S. Small, whom she married January 15, 1941, preceded her in death on October 23, 1992.

She is survived by two sons, Samuel C. (wife Marilyn) Small and Joseph S. Small, all of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Daniel A. Small, Stephanie A. (husband Ross) Williams, Jacquelyn R. Small, and Clinton J. Small; and a great-grandson, Luke Williams. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret “Pat” Weagley.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, February 2, 2015 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Services and interment in Lincoln Cemetery will be private.
