Ellen Kegerreis

Ellen Regina "Ellie" Kegerreis, age 33, of Queenstown, MD, and formerly of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, February 25, in Annapolis, MD. She was a daughter of Ronald D. Kegerreis of Carlisle and the late Julie Hemsley Kegerreis, and granddaughter of Rose Hemsley, with whom she lived over the last 8 years.

She is survived by her sisters, Meagan Duke (and husband, Tyler) of Fair Haven, NJ and Karli Kegerreis; baby brother Ronald Kegerreis and step-mother, Mary; two nieces and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Aside from her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, William T. Hemsley III, and Paul and Ellen Kegerreis.

Ellie attended the Franklin Learning Center for many years while living in Chambersburg, and the Chester Wye Center while living in Queenstown. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and she was one of the first handicapped members of the Chambersburg Girl Scouts. Ellie enjoyed horseback riding, listening to music, and spending time outside and on the water.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 327 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, with Rev. James R. O'Brien officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday, February 28 in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg.
