Elloise F. Sites, age 90, formerly of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at the Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville, PA. Born October 25, 1925, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Edna Eberly Piper.
A 1943 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, Mrs. Sites went on to work as a seamstress for over 40 years at the former Tracy Fashions, until its closure. Spry in nature she was an avid walker, she also enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Surviving are three children, Carol J. Rotz of TX; John R. “Bud” Grove (wife Deb) of Lower Horse Valley, PA; and Debra Benchoff (husband Rex) of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, eight grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Melvin J. Piper, Jr. (wife Delores) of Fayetteville, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John R. Grove and her second husband, Joseph Sites.
Graveside services will be private in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA, with Pastor Steve Barnett officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Heartland Hospice, 1200 Walnut Bottom Rd, Suite 302, Carlisle, PA 17015-7767.
