Elmer Young

Elmer Myron Young, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He was a graduate of Chambersburg High School and retired from Landis Tool Company in Waynesboro. Elmer was a master craftsman. He was a long standing member of the Scotland United Methodist Church, George Washington Lodge #143 F&AM, and the Goodwill Fire Company.

He is survived by his wife Janet Young; daughter, Cindy Donn (Roger) of Richmond, VA; grandson, Joshua Young (Lisa) of Florida; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Robert, also of Florida. He is also survived by his sister, Pauline Johnston of Chambersburg. He was preceded in death his son, Robert Young; parents, Paul and Thelma Young; and two siblings, John Young and Isabel Mohler.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Norland Cemetery. Rev. John Irwin will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
