Elwood C. “Woody” Bollinger, 71, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 11, 1950 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late George W. and Eunice E. Shank Bollinger. Woody was a 1968 graduate of the Lancaster Mennonite High School and served two years 1-W alternative service at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lancaster. He owned and operated Bollinger Aluminum Products for 40 years doing home improvement sales and installation. He was an active member of the Pond Bank Community Church where he had served as a Youth Group leader and a Worship leader. He enjoyed golf; fishing; hiking; traveling; volunteering at the Care Center in Lake Wales, FL; and loved mowing the Fayetteville Athletic ball fields.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy L. White Bollinger, whom he married June 14, 1975; his daughter, Julie A. Shaffer (Lonnie) of Fayetteville; his son, Joseph E. Bollinger (Keijo) of Orlando, FL; and six grandchildren, Chase, Wade, Samuel, Salvador, Willow, and Tavi. He is also survived by two sisters, Lucille Yoder and Vera Wadel (Kenneth) and two brothers, Robert Bollinger (Norma Jean) and Glenn Bollinger (Monique).
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Chambersburg Mennonite Church, 1800 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Jeremy Lehman and Rev. Marlin Ebersole will officiate. The family encourages those not comfortable attending in person to view the live stream of the service on the Chambersburg Mennonite Church Facebook page. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Due to the current Covid pandemic there will be no gathering following the interment. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 PM Tuesday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA and from 9:00-10:00 AM Wednesday at the church.
