Esther Adams

Esther D. Adams, 79, formerly of 538 Cumberland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 10, 2011 at Menno Haven. Born January 28, 1932 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank Thomas and Bertha Gelwicks Dengler. Esther was employed at F&M Trust Company from 1949 until retiring in 1993. Following her retirement from the bank she worked part-time at the Franklin County Courthouse. She was a member of Crider’s United Brethren Church. She enjoyed volunteer work giving 3000 hours to the Chambersburg Hospital as well as time to Menn Haven. Her beloved husband, Glenn K. Adams, preceded her in death on April 12, 1984.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, November 18, 2011 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
