Esther S. Lehman, 89, of Fayetteville, PA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 23, 1928 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Harvey E. and Anna Martin Shank. Her beloved husband of almost 62 years, Virgil T. Esther was a wonderful woman full of wisdom, generosity, compassion and gentleness, all of which were generated from her personal relationship with Jesus. She was deeply devoted to her family. Esther was a 1947 graduate of Eastern Mennonite High School in Harrisonburg Virginia. Early in her life she was employed at the Stanley Co. and Olympia Candy Kitchen and volunteered at Menno Haven for many years. Above all else, she loved her role as a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed her birds and flowers.
She is survived by five children, Daryl R. Lehman (and wife, Rhoda) of Waynesboro, Sondra K. Funk (and husband, Ken) of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Audrey J. Swartzentruber (and husband, Dan) of Fayetteville, Joyce E. Kalous (and husband, Paul) of Cincinnati, OH, and Edwin J. Lehman (and wife, Natalie) of Chambersburg; 15 grandchildren; and a growing number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
