Ethel H. Marshall, age 91, of Chambersburg, PA went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Born August 17, 1921 in Collingswood, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Philip J. and Ethel Welcome Hoffer.
A dedicated loving wife and mother, Mrs. Marshall worked tirelessly caring for her children and husband. As an Army wife, she served her country for 22 years, until her husband’s retirement. Mrs. Marshall was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Chambersburg. In addition, she volunteered with the Released Time Bible Program for Children’s Bible Mission for over 35 years.
Surviving are two children, Lynne Price of Dry Run, PA and Steven Marshall (wife Marilyn) of Oak Hill, VA; five grandchildren, Andrea Thompson (husband Donald) of Dry Run, PA, Sandy Semple of Ft. Loudon, PA, Aubrey, Briana, and Jeremy Marshall all of Oak Hill, VA; five great grandchildren, Hope, Kyle, Jill, Leah, and Cole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas T. Marshall (Maj. USA Ret.); her son-in-law, John Price; a great granddaughter, Sierra; and five siblings.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 2 PM at Lincoln Cemetery, 990 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA; where Chaplain Bob Keener will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
