Ethel West

Ethel “Cookie” West, age 79, of Chambersburg, PA went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2021.

Born on June 6, 1942 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mildred Stumbaugh. She married her husband, Charles West, on February 10, 1962. Together they raised a son, Greg (Lyn) West of Chambersburg and a daughter, Diane (Jeff) Dwyer of Overland Park, Kansas.

Cookie devoted her life to her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of King Street Church.

In addition to her children, Cookie is survived by four grandchildren; Derek (Mary) West, Lauren (Collin) Whipple, Cole Sherwood and Liam Sherwood, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Janet (Raymond) Wingert and Nancy (Harold) Leidig; three brothers, Roger (Linda) Stumbaugh, John “Fred” (Ann) Stumbaugh, and Doug (Tonya) Stumbaugh, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Hess and Phyllis Snider; and one brother, Ralph Stumbaugh, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at King Street Church, 162 E. King Street, Chambersburg, PA. Visitation will be available from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the church. The funeral service will be available online at kingstreetchurch.com/funeral starting at 1:00 PM. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
