Evangelene Aurandt

Evangelene M. Aurandt, age 83, of Chambersburg, PA, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Falling Spring Nursing Home. Born in Mercersburg, PA on January 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Ethel McFadden Miller.

Mrs. Aurandt worked at Penn Hall Junior College and Wilson College as a maid in charge of her hall. She was a volunteer at the Chambersburg Hospital from 1982-1993 in both the gift shop and as Chaplains Help. She was a member of the Abundant Life Chapel. In addition she loved spending time with family, reading, and crafting.

Surviving are her children, Ruth M. Fegan (husband Dennis) of Chambersburg, PA, and Russel E. Needham (wife Joyce) of Mercersburg, PA; five grandchildren, Matthew J. Byers of Martinsburg, WV, Angela L. Byers of Hedgesville, WV, and Trinity D. Blan of Fayetteville, PA, Cathy Keesman of Carlisle, PA, and Crystal McClure-Lautenslager of Chambersburg, PA; and five great grandchildren, Joshua Irvin, Ariana Foltz both of Hedgesville, WV, Emma C. Martin of Fayetteville, PA, and Robbie and Riley McClure-Lautenslager of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Aurandt on May 2, 1979 and one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Pastors Sam and Nancy Myers will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 12, 2012 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.
