Evelyn Murray

Evelyn G. “Dolly” Murray, 95, of Dry Run, PA, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. She was born July 2, 1922, in Horse Valley, Toboyne Township, Perry County to the late Isaac M. and Eva V. (Hockenberry) Reeder. She was the wife of the late John A. Murray whom she married November 27, 1971.

Evelyn graduated from Orbisonia High School in 1939. She was a homemaker all of her life. Evelyn was a life-long member and Elder of the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church at Waterloo and a member of its choir. She had been a member of Project Council representing the Path Valley Senior Center for Franklin County Area on Aging and a member of the Penn State Cooperative Extension Family Living Advisory Board. She was a charter member of the Southern Dandelion Lioness Club, District 14L and later transferred to the Path Valley Lioness Club, District 14T.

Evelyn is survived by three children; daughter, Edith Irene Yohn (husband Richard), daughter, Barbara Ann McMillen (husband Ray), and son, David A. “Tony” Hockenberry (wife Virginia); six grandchildren, Richard Yohn, Jr., Karen Gipe, Wanda Rohm, Keith Yohn, Charles Hoffman, and Samantha Hoffman; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine Reeder; nephews, Garry Reeder and Joseph Johnson; nieces, Sharon Johnson, Diana Hoover, and Vada Neil; several cousins; and extended family. She was preceded in death by a son, James Barry Hockenberry; husband, Raymond C. Hockenberry; a brother, Edward I. Reeder; and a sister, Roberta Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 16, 2018, at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, with Pastor Marlin "Butch" Neil officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
