Evelyn Stepler

Evelyn M. Stepler, of Chambersburg, passed away at 9:50PM Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Menno Haven where she had been a guest for the past three days. Born in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Mary Walck Reed. A homemaker most of her life, she had at one time been employed at the former Triangle Shoe Store in Chambersburg. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and took pride in caring for her home and yard. Her beloved husband, Arthur Stepler preceded her in death on January 5, 1986.

She is survived by her son, Ronald L. Stepler and wife Peggy of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, David Stepler and wife Diane of Mechanicsburg, Lisa Maring and husband William of Shippensburg, Patrick Stepler and wife Tina of Berryville, VA, and Tony Norwood of Shippensburg; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Margaret McGowan of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Norwood on February 26, 2008; and a sister, Geraldine.

Services and interment in Lincoln Cemetery will be private.
