Everett Laing

Everett, T. Laing, age 98, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2014 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 28, 1916, he was the son of the late Wallace and Lucy Stebbins Laing. His beloved wife, Janet V. Moyer Laing, preceded him in death on July 3, 2000. He is survived by his son, Bruce M. Laing and wife Marilyn of Chambersburg, PA.
Mr. Laing worked as a purchasing agent for the MikroPul Division of U.S. Filter Corporation for over 30 years. A dedicated Mason, he was a Past Master of Loyalty Lodge #33 in Union, NJ, Past Senior Grand Steward of the New Jersey Grand Lodge, Past President of the Salaam Temple Past Masters Club a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Masons 32nd degree, and a member of the North Jersey Past Masters Association. He also served as the treasurer on the 13th District Scholarship Foundation for over 20 years. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed listening to classical music.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a local food bank of one’s choice.
