Faye Heckman

November 20, 1934 — June 3, 2023

Faye Stouffer Heckman, age 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Menno Haven Rehab Center. Born November 20, 1934, in New Franklin, PA, she was the daughter and youngest child of the late Daniel Emmert and Anna Susan Lesher Stouffer.

Mrs. Heckman was a 1952 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. She worked at various secretarial jobs after graduation, then a time at H. J. Heinz Company; but most enjoyed being a bank teller at F& M Bank in Chambersburg and First National Bank of McConnellsburg. Mrs. Heckman was a lifelong member of the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren, where she served as church secretary and as a Sunday School Teacher. Her husband, Benjamin J. Heckman, whom she married December 5, 1953, preceded her in death on October 20, 2015
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Cummings (husband Bradley); two sons, Joel Heckman (wife Susan) and David Heckman (Susan Bonner), all of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, Nathan Cummings, Bill Carter, Nicole Yates, Natalie Thornton, Greg Deneen, and Lannette Feathers; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Bonnie Heckman; cousin, Jackie Heckman; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eleven siblings.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 9:30 AM Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at St. Thomas Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate Faye’s life will follow at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Chambersburg Church of The Brethren, where Rev. Liz Thorpe will officiate.
