Frances M. Ramer, age 84, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab Center. Born November 28, 1931, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Rosetta Wadel Ebersole.
Mrs. Ramer worked in the Laundry Service at Wilson College in her early years. She later worked in housekeeping at the former Franklin County Nursing Home for 18 years, retiring in 1991. She was a faithful member of the Pleasant View Mennonite Church. Mrs. Ramer participated in the sewing circle at Pleasant View Church, the Camp Joy El Chorale and the King’s Troubadours. She enjoyed singing, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph E. Ramer (wife Joann) of Shreveport, LA and Myron D. Ramer (wife Julie A.) of Chambersburg, PA; four grandchildren, Jessica and Travis (wife Crystal) Ramer of Chambersburg, PA and Alex and Addie Ramer of Shreveport, LA; three great-grandchildren, Zaine, Bailey, and Madison; three siblings, Norman D. Ebersole (wife Janet), Adin R. Ebersole (wife Wanda), and Mary Catherine Martin (husband Clair E.); and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ramer was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Andrew Ramer on August 29, 1976, and two siblings, Harry L. Ebersole, Jr. and Paul S. Ebersole.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016, at 10 AM at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 346 Warm Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202, where Rev. Harold Yeager and Rev. Samuel Sollenberger will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16, 2016, from 6 – 8 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA and on Monday at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
