Francis Fegan

March 31, 1929 — February 17, 2012

Francis J. Fegan, 82, of Chambersburg, PA, died Friday morning, February 17, 2012 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 31, 1929 in Hamilton Township, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Leo S. and Mary C. Andrews Fegan. A US Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Fegan was employed for forty years at Nitterhouse Concrete in Chambersburg. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a life member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW. His wife, Joanne Hoover Fegan preceded him in death on June 23, 2004.

He is survived by two children, Robert “Bob” Fegan and wife Vicky and Diane McCarty and husband Richard, all of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Corey and Tim Fegan and Becky McCarty; his sister, Mildred Green of Jonesboro, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Fegan; and two sisters, Lucille Culbertson and Dorothy Ehrhart.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James O’Brien at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg, PA. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7:00-9:00 PM Monday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, both at 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201
