Francis X. Huss, age 97, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Born August 20, 1920, in Holidaysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Francis X. and Ella C. Forney Huss.
A WWII veteran, Mr. Huss served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in the China-Burma-India Theatre. He continued his service, working at Letterkenny Army Depot at DESCOM as a Maintenance Management Specialist, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the American Legion and the Rock and Mineral Club. He operated the Caledonia Lapidary out of his home.
Surviving are two children, Charles E. Williams (wife Shirley) of Orrtanna, PA and Samuel A. Williams (wife Norma) of Chambersburg, PA; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy P. Holtzinger of McKee, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Ray Seilhamer will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered by members of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard.
