Frank James “Jim” Arrison, Jr., 78, of Chambersburg, has been guided back into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jim passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born July 14, 1939 in Chambersburg, the first of four sons, to the late Frank J. Arrison, Sr., and Helen Everette Arrison.
After high school, Jim served four years in the US Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Randolph. He then owned and operated a local furniture store, Flotsam and Jetsam. For many years Jim was employed in logistics with DESCOM at Letterkenny Army Depot. After retirement from the government, Jim worked as a security guard with Penn Hall and Menno Haven. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post 46 in Chambersburg. He enjoyed reading, selling books online, travels for supplies, golfing with his father and brothers and playing UNO with his great granddaughter, Mahrya and family. Jim had a fun and loving spirit and would not hesitate to tell you of the Savior, Jesus Christ’s love for everyone. He had a strong Christian faith. This dear man will be greatly missed. Also missed will be the soft melody of his whistling tunes.
Jim is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Celia Summers Arrison; two daughters, Lisa “Ekk” G. Rice and husband Gerard, and Julie “Tom” S. Mouse and husband Steve; one grandson, Scott “Boy” James Henderson; one great granddaughter, Mahrya “Girl” R. Henderson, all of Chambersburg; three brothers, Jack Arrison (Marlene) of Fayetteville, Jerry Arrison (Daisy) and Jay Arrison (Yvonne), both of Orrtanna, PA; his cousin, Lois “Skip” Picking of Irving, PA; numerous nieces and nephews, and his cat, Molly Blue “Dummie”. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a great grandson, Brae Skot Henderson in 2016; his close friend and sister-in-law, Y. Kay Summers in 2016.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2017, in Green Hill Cemetery, 953 South Potomac, St., Waynesboro, PA. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
