Frank L. Lensbower, 90, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at his home. Born May 28, 1928 in St. Thomas, he was a son of the late Harry Edward and Bessie Viola Heckman Lensbower. He was a 1947 graduate of the former St. Thomas High School and served with the US Army 88th Airborne during the Korean War. Mr. Lensbower was an Agent with Prudential Insurance, retiring after 21 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg and Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion in St. Thomas. He enjoyed fishing and working with his hands, fixing most anything that was brought to him.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Griffith Lensbower, whom he married March 7, 1954; his son, Jeffrey L. Lensbower and wife Melodie of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Justin, Chad, Christian, and Taylor Lensbower; his great-granddaughter, Aria Lensbower; and his daughter-in-law, Caroline “Carol” Acker Lensbower. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Terry L. Lensbower on March 21, 2013 and Gregory L. Lensbower on May 15, 2015; two brothers, Robert E. and Joseph R. Lensbower; and his sister, Grace E. Dubbs.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon-1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
