Frank Myers

Frank P. Myers, age 86, of Fayetteville, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 3, 2017, at his home. Born August 26, 1930, in Fayetteville, PA, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Mary Anna Peters Myers.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Frank served with honor for over 22 years, retiring in 1970. Frank worked as a communications technician and radar technician in the Air Force, having served in Alaska, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and the Philippines and also at radar sites in NY, PA, MD, VA MS, IA, and MT. A licensed private pilot, Frank was a member of the Maryland Civil Air Patrol as a communications officer and an E Mission Transport pilot. Upon retirement from the Air Force, Frank went on to serve his country, working for the Department of Defense and the Federal Aviation Administration. Frank enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and taking walks with his Siberian Husky, Nikita.
Surviving is his loving wife of 64 years, Doris Gsell Myers; three children, Blair R. Myers of Dushore, PA, Thomas M. Myers (wife Sherri) of Upper Strasburg, PA, and Jackie M. Loar of Chambersburg, PA; four grandchildren, Karisa, Jessica, Garrett, and Cheyenne; three great-grandchildren, Kylee, Ryland, and Leland; a brother, Thomas R. Myers (wife Mary) of Redondo Beach, CA and three sisters-in-law, Jane Gsell, Helen Myers, and Joan Myers. The Myers family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the assistance given to them from Jeanne and Alvin Benedict, Tammy and Dwight Thomas, and SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202; where Pastor Trisha Guise will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by members of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202 or to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd., West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
