Frank C. Stehle, Jr., 85, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday morning, April 15, 2015 at his home. Born December 5, 1929 in Mechanicsburg, he was a son of the late Frank Stehle, Sr. and Zula Kunkle Stehle. Frank was a 1947 graduate of the Mechanicsburg High School and was employed as Bookeeper at the Art Sign Company in Chambersburg for forty years, retiring in 2000. He then worked part time as a Tip Staffer at the Franklin County Courthouse. Frank was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, George Washington Lodge #143 F&AM, and B.P.O. Elks Lodge 600 where he was a Past Exalted Ruler and had served as Secretary.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy L. Fehl Stehle, whom he married June 16, 1951; four children, Johanna M. Scott and husband Jack of Lewisberry, Mary Sue Brown of Summerville, SC, Karen L. Frey and husband Steve of Chambersburg, and Bryan F. Stehle of York; seven grandchildren, Brandon Brown and wife Esther of Shippensburg, Kevin Scott and wife Maddy of Harrisburg, Shaunda Moats and husband Shane of York Haven, Joshua Frey and wife Lacy of Chambersburg, Zachary Stehle of Dallastown; Kayla Frey of Chambersburg, and Lauren Stehle of Dallastown; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Lohry of Carlisle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Patrick R. Brown; four sisters; and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 26 West Commerce Street, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Dr. Neal O. Hively officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery. Members of George Washington Lodge #143 and B.P.O. Elks Lodge #600 will perform service prior to the memorial service at the church on Saturday. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
