Frank W. Thomas, 72, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 7, 1944 in Chambersburg he was the son of the late John W. and Marie Myers Thomas.
Early in his life Frank worked at Nitterhouse Concrete Products. He was later employed as a forklift operator at Knouse Foods, then as a Chipper Grinder at T.B. Woods for 16 years. Frank then tended bar and was a member of the American Legion Post 46, the Marine Corps League, and the AmVets Post 224. He was most recently employed as a custodian at the Chambersburg Club where he also held membership. He enjoyed collecting coins, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Frank was a member of Abundant Life Chapel in Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wanda J. Morelock Thomas, whom he married on May 30, 1964; two daughters, Pamela Lockwood and husband Wade of Harrisburg, and Bethany Robinson and husband Daniel of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Eli and Emma Lockwood and Katie and Gage Robinson; and his sister, Bonnie Downin and husband Paul of Chambersburg. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by four siblings, Nancy Forney, Kate Williams, Helga J. Thomas, and John R. Thomas, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 6, 2017 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastors Sam and Nancy Myers will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
