Frank Uglow, age 78, of Chambersburg, PA died on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at his home. Born October 21, 1934, he was a son of the late Edward and Anna Stratton Uglow. His wife, Judith Snyder Uglow preceded him in death on September 25, 2001.
Frank worked as a corrections officer in the Franklin County Prison where he later retired. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Frank served honorably during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, the Chambersburg Club, Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, AMVETS Post 224, and Knights of Columbus #1426, all in Chambersburg.
Frank is survived by a step-daughter, Kelly Roberts and husband William of Newville, PA, a step-son, Brian Kendall of San Antonio, TX, two daughters, Pamela Uglow Barton (husband Wayne) of Irwin, PA and Linda Uglow Miller of Kingston, OK, nine grandchildren and two siblings. In addition to his wife and parents, Frank is preceded in death by nine siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday, September 23, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Murray Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599, VFW honor guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
