Franklin Brosious

Franklin H. Brosious, age 91 of Chambersburg, PA. Frank was surrounded by family & his best friend when his Lionel Train left the station at 5:30pm Friday, September 15, 2017, for its final run on the tracks bound for heavens' glory. Born May 2, 1926, in Dalmatia, PA, he was the son of the late George Elsworth and Grace Elizabeth Dockey Brosious.
Frank graduated from Lower Mahanoy Township High School class of 1944 early to join the Navy. During WWII he was a Navy aircraft mechanic stationed in Brazil. After his honorable discharge he learned electronics while working at Olmstead Air Force base in Highspire, PA. In 1966 he transferred to Letterkenny Army Depot and worked in the missile shop, where he would later retire in 1985 after 37 years of federal service. He enjoyed repairing TV's and building Lionel Train layouts. Frank and his son enjoyed toy trains, shows, and playing golf.
Later in life, Frank and his best friend, Wyllo, traveled across America a couple of times and to Europe twice. They often traveled with friends to play golf at various places. He was a member of the VFW Post 1599, American Legion Post 46, and AMVETS Post 224 all in Chambersburg; and had belonged to the Lionel Train Collector Club and the Train Collectors Association.
Surviving is his son, Ben K. Brosious (wife Sharon) of Chambersburg, PA, a grandson, Justin Rook, a great-grandson, Jonah Rook, and his best friend, travel companion, and golf partner, Wyllo Mitchell and her daughters and their families, and his favorite pest, our dog, Lily. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Reitz Brosious in 1990 and a sister, Francis Heim.
Funeral services will be private in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Scott Bowerman will officiate, as per Frank's wishes there will be no public visitation. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers Frank & his family requested donations made to Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance 344 Leedy Way East Chambersburg, Pa. 17202 OR the charity of their choice.
