Fred C. Gindlesperger, Jr. 59, of Chambersburg, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Wellspan York Hospital. Born May 2, 1962 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Donna Jean Koontz Gindlesperger and the late Fred C. Gindlesperger, Sr.
Fred was a devoted husband and loving father and pop-pop. He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Chambersburg and was the owner and operator of Chambersburg Automatic Transmission Auto Center for 27 plus years. In his free time he was an avid hunter and enjoyed vacationing at the beach with his family. Fred was a car enthusiast, adrenaline junkie, and history buff. He was also a substitute teacher at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center in Chambersburg in the automotive department.
Surviving is his wife of 38 years, Roberta “Bobbie” (Bittinger) Gindlesperger, whom he married on June 11, 1983; two daughters, Holly Friese and husband Andrew of Chambersburg, and April Kauffman and husband Brandon of Orrstown; four grandchildren, Brooke, Chase, Belle and Easton; sister Connie Washabaugh and husband Alan of Chambersburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Bethel Assembly of God, 400 Miller St., Chambersburg, PA where Pastor Garry Kipe will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Assembly of God at the above address.
