Fred E. Miller, age 77, of St. Thomas, PA, and formerly of Ft. Loudon, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Fulton County, PA, on March 12, 1938, he was the son of the late Daniel and Edna Deaver Miller.
Mr. Miller worked as a farmer most of his life. He was a life member of the Men of the Mountain in Ft. Loudon, PA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR.
Surviving is his wife, Donna Cooper Miller, whom he married on October 6, 1956, three children, Alicia K. Miller of Huntington, Co., PA, Rebecca J. Horner of Chambersburg, PA, and Randy J. Miller (wife Bonnie) of St. Thomas, PA; five grandchildren, Richard Sharar (wife Kat), Crystal Williams (husband Steve), Merle Sharar, Jr. (wife Heather), Jeremy Sharar, and Tonya Brown (husband Brian); nine great grandchildren; one great -great grandson; and one brother, Wayne Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Miller.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 6 – 8 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. Funeral services and interment will be private. The family requests the omission of flowers, if desired; contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, Franklin/Fulton Division, 1019 Mumma Rd., Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
