Fred C. Wagner, age 92, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Bridgeville and Upper St. Clair, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 07, 2016, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 12, 1924, in Bridgeville, PA, he was the son of the late John and Anna Rudda Wagner.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Wagner served honorably during WWII. Mr. Wagner was employed by Universal Cyclops Steel for 33 years, retiring as the Plant Superintendent. He was a Past Master of Lafayette Lodge #652, Carnegie, PA and a member of Consistory and Shrine of Pittsburgh, PA.
Surviving is his loving wife of 71 years, June Wagner, whom he married on April 15, 1945; a daughter, Karen Kirker (husband James) of Chambersburg, PA; a granddaughter, Jennifer Silva (husband Michael); and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Madison Silva. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.
Funeral services will be private, followed by private interment in Lincoln Cemetery, where Pastor Rachael Keller will officiate. The family will receive friends in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA on Friday, July 8, 2016, from 6 – 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 1140 Edgar Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
