Frederick Adams

Frederick W. “Fred” Adams, 93, of Fannettsburg, PA died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Shippensburg Health Care Center. Born July 31, 1918 in Fannettsburg, he was a son of the late Thomas J. and Mintie Wineman Adams. Fred was a 1942 graduate of the Shippensburg State Teacher’s College. He taught at the former Green Hill School near McConnellsburg and later retired from the Fannett-Metal School District after over forty years of teaching. He and his brother Bill owned and operated the former Willow Hill Motel. A Corvette enthusiast, Fred belonged to and traveled with several area Corvette Clubs where he won many trophies. He had a great love of cars and especially enjoyed his red Corvette and his 1957 Chevy Nomad. He was a member of the Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church.

The last of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by six brothers, J. Glen, Frank, Ernest, Clarence, T. Miles, and Robert Adams. He is survived by nine nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 1:00 PM until funeral services begin at 2:00 PM Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA. Rev. Donna Ryan will officiate. Interment will follow in Upper Path Valley Cemetery.
