Gambel P. Wilson, age 98, of Amberson, PA, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015, at the Aprontree Personal Care Home in Dry Run, PA. Born May 14, 1916, in Amberson, PA, he was the son of the late Charles S. and Alice G. Piper Wilson.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Wilson served honorably during WWII. He was a member of the upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church in Spring Run. Surviving are two nieces, Mary June Campbell (James) of Doylesburg, PA and Doris Campbell (Ralph) of Doylesburg, PA and a nephew, William B. Rowles, Jr. (Terry) of Amberson, PA and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rhoda Jane Wilson in 2002, three children in infancy, a sister, Esther Rowles in 2013, and a nephew, Gary Rowles.
Funeral services to honor Mr. Wilson will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10 AM at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA 17220; where Rev. Dr. Meagan Boozer will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 5 from 7-9 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be in Amberson Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church, P.O.
