Garry L. Cook, 76, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 9, 1944 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late John Leroy and Hazel Fitzgerald Cook.

Garry was a1963 graduate of CASHS. A US Army veteran, Garry served honorably during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Letterkenny Army Depot for 22 years until his retirement in 1999. He was later employed in security for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Garry was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and a life member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed going camping with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean A. Lenker Cook, whom he married on March 7, 1970; two children, Rodney L. Cook and wife Dr. Elizabeth Cook of Spring Arbor, MI and Brandi Cook and fiancé Edward Kodish of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Hannah, Madelyn, Lucas and Daniel; and his sister, Doris Miller and husband Norman of Chambersburg. In addition to his parents, Garry was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Cook.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Caroline E. Saxton will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department, 101 West Main Street, Fayetteville, PA 17222.
