Garry Heckman

Garry O. Heckman, 79, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center. Born August 13, 1939, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Garnet and Margaret “Winnie” Dice Heckman Romesburg.

A 1959 Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Garry went on to honorably serve in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965. Following his service, he worked as a mechanic at Letterkenny Army Depot for 27 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion and the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge # 842. He was also a thirty plus year friend of Bill W. He enjoyed hunting and watching sports.

Garry is survived by his son, Garry R. Heckman (girlfriend Stacey) of Chambersburg, and half-brother Jeffrey Heckman (wife Lee) of Frystown, PA, and step-sister Carla Romesburg of Pittsburgh, PA.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 12:00 to 3:00 PM, at the Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, 755 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA.
